November 3rd 2011 — mark your calendar

Camera and gadget geeks, mark ze word 11-3-11 — Rumors are making its way thru the grapvines.

Both Red and Canon seems to have chosen the 3rd day of the Thanksgiving month as the day for a “major” announcement.

I’m just a modest-budget-media-maker, but this is interesting news. Canon was the establish company, then out of no-where Red delivered the Red One and the Epic, somewhere in between Canon took the dslr market. The technology is out of the bottle sort-to-speak. Canon has the full frame chip on the 5Dmkii; I think they could easily merge their pro camcorder line with their dslr line. Red, on the other hand, re-thought their Scarlet line, proved that 5k vid was possible with the Epic ($58k without accessories) — really puts a challenge to all.

Anyways, I’ve no idea what it will be, like you I’ll be tuned in.
